A philanthropist, Joshua Twum Barimah, who also serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of JPP Construction Limited, has commissioned a mechanized borehole for Subri Nkwanta community in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality.
The Subri Nkwanta community has struggled with access to clean water for years, relying on streams and rivers that are often polluted.
The borehole is expected to serve over 5,000 people in the community. The project was completed in a matter of weeks, and the borehole is now fully operational.
The mechanized borehole is equipped with modern machinery, including a solar-powered pump and a water treatment system. This ensures that the water is clean and safe for consumption, reducing the risk of water-borne diseases.
The community on Thursday, January 30, came together to celebrate the commissioning of the borehole, with traditional leaders, local government officials, and residents all in attendance. The philanthropist was praised for his generosity and commitment to improving the lives of others.
Nana Ngoah Okumdom II, Nifahene of the Anhwiaso Traditional Council, expressed his gratitude to the philanthropist, saying, “This is a game-changer for our community. We are grateful for the kindness and generosity of the philanthropist. This borehole will improve the health and well-being of our people.”
The committee chairman, Stephen Kesseh, also seized the opportunity to applaud the philanthropist for prioritizing the welfare of the community. He called for God’s blessings upon him.
During the commissioning ceremony, Joshua Twum Barimah addressed the gathering, emphasizing his commitment to community development.
He stated, “Water is life, and access to clean water is a fundamental right. I am honoured to contribute to the well-being of the Subri Nkwanta community by providing this mechanized borehole.”
“My vision is to see that the community enjoy basic necessities such as clean water and proper sanitation. This is just the beginning; I will continue to support initiatives that uplift our people.”
He further pledged to construct toilet facilities for the community in response to their request.
Residents of Subri Nkwanta expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Joshua Twum Barimah for his generosity. Many shared how the borehole has significantly improved their daily lives by providing easy access to clean water.
