I’ve come to realize something painful — something that continues to break my heart each day. Many people in the Western North Region do not support their own people. It’s a harsh truth, but one we need to confront boldly if we truly care about growth and unity.
When you are fully committed to doing something positive in this land — our land — you often suffer in silence. You face discouragement, setbacks, and a lack of appreciation from the very people you are working hard to represent.
Instead of lifting each other up, we choose to stand aside and watch our own brothers and sisters struggle. At the same time, we shower love, attention, and support on outsiders who know little about our journey.
It is difficult to understand. Why do we constantly overlook those who are trying to make a difference in our own communities?
Our people often refuse to support local initiatives. They choose not to follow local pages, ignore community-driven campaigns, and dismiss stories that celebrate our culture and achievements.
Yet, these same individuals freely support content creators from other regions — sometimes even from outside Ghana. They like, comment on, and share the works of others, while turning a blind eye to what’s happening right here at home.
We, the content creators and bloggers of Western North, are working day and night. We are using our voices, our platforms, and our limited resources to promote and showcase the unique beauty, the extraordinary talent, and the untapped potential of the Western North Region.
But too often, it feels like our efforts are invisible. It feels like our own people don’t see us, don’t value us, and don’t appreciate what we’re trying to build.
The content we create here is no different — in quality, in relevance, or in purpose — from what our colleagues in other regions are doing. We cover events. We tell authentic stories.
We share positive developments. We celebrate culture. Yet, our own people tend to ignore us. Instead, they invest their time and energy into helping others grow their platforms. They like, comment, share, and follow pages based in Accra, Kumasi, or Takoradi — but remain silent when it comes to our own.
It’s heartbreaking.
What makes it even more painful is this: many of the bloggers and influencers we support from outside the region only focus on the negatives when they speak about Western North.
They report crime, conflict, and poverty — the things that tarnish our image. And still, we continue to promote them. We continue to give them a voice. But what do we get in return?
Meanwhile, here at home, we have amazing and hardworking platforms such as:
Sefwinews, The Legend TV, Sir Joe, Ayoba TV, Sefwiman TV, Sefwi Trends, 2Rvisionnews.com, Dailytimesgh.com and many more. These are not just names.
These are passionate individuals and teams who are committed to pushing the region forward. They sacrifice time, money, and energy every day to represent Western North in a positive light.
It’s time to change this narrative. The time to act is now.
Let us support our own. Let us celebrate what we have. Let us stop waiting for outsiders to validate us before we take pride in ourselves. There is so much value in Western North — in our stories, in our talents, and in our vision for the future.
Let us grow together.
We are no different from creators in other regions. The only thing missing is the support from our people. But with your encouragement, your engagement, and your belief in us, we can make Western North a force to reckon with — not just in Ghana, but across the continent.
Let us stop overlooking our own. Let us stop looking down on what belongs to us. Every time you scroll past a local story or skip a post from your own people, you are missing an opportunity to uplift someone — someone who might just be the change-maker the region needs.
Support is not only about money. Support is about mindset. It’s about showing love in small ways. A like, a comment, a share — they may seem small, but they mean everything to the person behind the content. They are signs of encouragement. They are signs that someone cares.
Even one voice can spark a movement — but imagine what we could do if we stood together.
So please, today and always, follow our pages. Watch our videos. Read our stories. Recommend us to friends. Correct us with kindness when we fall short. Celebrate our wins, and help us rise when we stumble.
Together, we can build something powerful.
Together, we can make Western North proud.
One hand cannot clap alone — but with unity, with love, and with true support, we can transform our region for generations to come.
