UCC Youngsters compound Sefwi All Stars’ woes with 2-1 Victory

In the week 12 fixtures of the National Division One League Zone 2, University of Cape Coast Football team, UCC Youngsters, secured a 2-1 win over Sefwi All Stars at the Robert Mensah Park.

This defeat further exacerbates Sefwi All Stars’ struggles, plunging them deeper into the relegation zone.

The match got off to a blistering start, with Lucas Tatul Ntapuah scoring for UCC Youngsters just five minutes into the game.

Raphael Addo doubled the lead in the 17th minute, capitalizing on a defensive mistake by Sefwi All Stars.

Emmanuel Okrah managed to pull one back for Sefwi All Stars in the 43rd minute, but it was too little, too late.

The second half failed to produce any goal, leaving the final score at 2-1 in favour of UCC Youngsters. This loss has severe implications for Sefwi All Stars, who now find themselves in 14th place with 9 points from 12 matches, having scored 6 goals and conceded 11.

As the sole representative of the Western North Region in the division one league, Sefwi All Stars’ performance is a concern for the entire region.

The club’s management must acknowledge the challenges faced by Western North Region teams in securing promotion to division one and take decisive action to avoid relegation.

Failure to do so would not only result in Sefwi All Stars’ demotion but also leave the Western North Region without a division one representative, highlighting the need for urgent improvement.
