Soccer Lions Football Club has resumed training as they prepare for their debut appearance in the 2023/24 Western Regional Football Association Super Middle League.
The club, situated in Debiso in the Bia West District of the Western North Region, is poised to make history after clinching qualification for the first time since its inception in 2021.
The road to qualification was not an easy one for Soccer Lions, as they narrowly missed out on the slot in the previous season’s playoff game against Adjoafuaman FC at the Asafo Ramos Park.
Determined to make amends, the Simba Boys showcased an impressive performance in the Group Stage of this season’s Division Two League in the Bia West District.
Under the leadership of their Chief Executive Officer, Bernard Gyebi Blay, Soccer Lions recorded an outstanding campaign, notching up 7 wins, 2 draws, and just 1 defeat in 10 games. The team’s resilience and skill have raised hopes and expectations among fans and officials alike.
Looking ahead to the upcoming Super Middle League slated for June 5th in Tarkwa, CEO Bernard Gyebi Blay expressed confidence in the team’s ability to make a mark.
“As Lions, we always aim to be on top. We are focused, determined, and ready to compete at our best in the Super Middle League,” he stated.
Soccer Lions FC’s journey in the Super Middle League promises to be a thrilling one, as they aim to showcase their talent and make a strong statement in the regional football scene.
