Tenkaymoney1 emerges as One of Ghana’s Fast-Rising DJs

Marfo Emmanuel, widely known in entertainment circles as Tenkaymoney1, is steadily carving a name for himself as one of Ghana’s exciting DJs in the Afro-pop, dancehall, and reggae space.

Born on April 18, 2002, in Ashaiman, Tenkaymoney1 grew up as the fourth of seven siblings, with roots tracing back to Krofrom and the Volta Region. But long before the spotlight found him, his journey began in the classroom — not behind the decks, but on stage.

As early as primary school, young Emmanuel was already showcasing his creative spark. He wrote scripts, acted in drama performances, and developed a natural love for rhythm and expression. What started as fun quickly turned into a deeper passion — one that would later define his path.

Fast forward to his days at the University of Ghana, and that passion found a louder voice. Tenkaymoney1 began as a “drink-up” DJ, entertaining fellow students at campus gatherings.

His energy, versatility, and ability to read the crowd quickly made him a favorite. Before long, he became the resident DJ at TymeOut, one of the university’s most vibrant hangout spots.

His influence didn’t stop there. He went on to serve as the in-house DJ for major campus events organized by EchoHouse and Lynx Entertainment, gaining valuable exposure and experience.

Determined to grow, he pushed beyond campus boundaries, performing at events and sharpening his craft through friendly competitions with other DJs.

With consistency and dedication, opportunities began to open. His talent earned him recognition at the Ghana DJ Awards in the Event DJ and Club DJ categories, marking a major milestone in his journey.

Tenkaymoney1 later stepped into the professional media space, joining Starr FM. There, he thrilled listeners on “Club Arena” alongside DJ French Kiss, with hosts Nii Ayi and Bianca Buckman, before moving on to “Starr Drive” with Bola Ray — a platform that further cemented his presence in the industry.

His hard work paid off in 2017 when he was honored with the Best DJ award at the Ghana Music Honours, a moment that confirmed his place among Ghana’s rising talents.

Today, Tenkaymoney1 continues to build his brand, blending Afro-pop, dancehall, and reggae into electrifying sets that connect with audiences everywhere he plays.

His journey is a testament to passion, persistence, and the power of starting small.

From scripting school plays to commanding DJ booths, Tenkaymoney1 is proof that greatness often begins with a simple spark.
