Oheneba Nana Kwame Obeng II, Chief of Sefwi Obeng-Mim in the Juaboso District, has announced plans to donate water bottles to Royal Basic School to promote hygiene and help reduce childhood illnesses.
The initiative follows his recent visit to the school, where he observed that children were drinking water from unclean containers, posing a significant health risk.
“One of the causes of childhood sickness is how the children currently drink water at the school. I found this out when I visited Obeng Mim Royal Basic School recently. The children drink the water from unclean items,” he said in a statement.
The donation, he believes, will not only promote better hygiene but also help reduce medical expenses for families in the community.
“We ask for $500 to support this most important endeavor,” Oheneba Nana Kwame Obeng II stated, urging individuals and organizations to contribute towards the cause.
The donation forms part of a broader effort to improve the well-being of schoolchildren in Sefwi Obeng-Mim, ensuring they have access to safe drinking water and a healthier learning environment.
Community leaders hope this initiative will inspire further development projects aimed at enhancing education and public health in the community.
