Sefwi All Stars FC secured a commanding 2-0 victory over New Edubiase United in their week 13 fixture of Access Bank Division One League, extending their unbeaten run at Asafo Ramos Park to 22 games.
The match, which was tightly contested throughout, saw Ebenezer Payne break the deadlock in the dying moments of the first half, scoring in the 45+2′ minute.
Payne’s well-timed strike gave the home side a deserved lead going into the break.
In the second half, it was Kennedy Owusu who sealed the victory for Sefwi All Stars, finding the back of the net in the 85th minute, putting the game beyond reach for New Edubiase United.
Striker Stephen Amoako, making his debut for Sefwi All Stars in the Access Bank Division One League, played a key role in the victory.
Amoako provided an assist for Owusu’s goal, showcasing his skill and making an immediate impact on his first appearance for the club.
Defender Richard Larbi earned the coveted Man of the Match (MOTM) award for his standout performance. Larbi, who was crucial in defense, put in a solid shift that helped Sefwi All Stars maintain their clean sheet.
This marks his second MOTM award for the 2024/25 season, with his first coming in the club’s earlier clash against Rospak Sporting Club.
With the victory, Sefwi All Stars has moved up two places on the league standings and now occupies 14th position with 12 points, continuing to build momentum as they aim for a higher finish.
