Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has acknowledged that Ghana will face a more experienced Cameroon side when the two teams meet in the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Ghana will battle the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in their second Group D fixture on Sunday at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca, with qualification to the knockout stage within reach.
The Black Queens began their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Cape Verde, but Bjorkegren believes the challenge posed by Cameroon will be significantly tougher due to their quality and experience.
The Swedish tactician expects Ghana to come up against a side with seasoned players and a strong tournament pedigree.
“I expect Cameroon to be one level up than Cape Verde,” Bjorkegren told the media on Saturday.
“We are going to play against a good Cameroon team with experienced players,” he added.
Kick-off is scheduled for 17:00 GMT, with a victory guaranteeing Ghana’s place in the quarterfinals of the competition.
The Black Queens will also be aiming for a deep run in the tournament, as reaching the semifinals will secure qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
