Lt. Col. (Rtd) Anthony Aduhene has called for the expansion of Customs services and improved logistical support to enhance operations in the Western North Region.

The respected retired military officer made these remarks during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Brigadier General Glover Annan, to congratulate him on his recent appointment.

During the meeting, Lt. Col. (Rtd) Aduhene appealed to the Commissioner for logistical support for Customs staff working in collaboration with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) in Sefwi Wiawso.

He emphasized the need to empower officers on the ground with the necessary resources to effectively discharge their duties.

He further advocated for the expansion of Customs services in the Western North Region, a move he believes will not only improve revenue collection and enforcement of trade regulations but also open up job opportunities for the youth and qualified indigenes in the area.

“Our discussion focused on expanding Customs operations in the Western North Region, particularly in Sefwi Wiawso, to create job opportunities for the youth and support local development,” Lt. Col. Aduhene stated.

“The Western North Region has great potential and deserves adequate government support in accessing essential services like Customs. Expanding these services will boost the local economy and help address unemployment,” he added.

Brigadier General Glover Annan thanked Lt. Col. Aduhene for the visit and his constructive suggestions, assuring him that the concerns raised would be given due attention.
