The Member of Parliament for Bia East, Richard Acheampong, has made significant donations to various groups and individuals to support and enhance their activities.
The series of donations took place on Friday, 24th May 2024, benefiting the Atua Rice Farmers’ Association, Ghana Education Service (GES) Inter-circuit Sports Committee, Adabokrom Community Day SHS, Kwasare Divisional Council and several local traders.
The donation event commenced at Richard Acheampong’s residence, where the leadership of the Atua Rice Farmers’ Association, the GES Inter-circuit Sports Committee, a student, and five traders were presented with cheques totaling Seventeen Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 17,000.00).
The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the MP’s remarkable support, acknowledging the positive impact these funds would have on their respective activities.
Following this, Richard Acheampong proceeded to Nana Adowa IV Park at Adabokrom, where he donated a set of jerseys, a football, assorted soft drinks, packs of mineral water, a mower, and Two Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 2,000.00).
These contributions were made in support of the Inter-house Sports Competition organized by Adabokrom Community Day Senior High School (SHS).
In his address, the MP encouraged students to balance their academic pursuits with the development of their sporting talents. A representative from the school thanked Richard Acheampong for his unwavering support towards the school’s activities.
The day’s events continued with a visit to Nana Yaw Krah III, Chief of Kwasare, his elders, and the local community during the 2024 Eluo Festival.
Richard Acheampong made further donations, including a mower, assorted soft drinks, packs of mineral water, six streetlights, three boxes of assorted GES-approved textbooks, sets of jerseys, footballs, and Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 10,000.00).
Additionally, He also pledged to complete the construction of the Chief’s palace and the durbar ground in time for the 2027 Eluo Festival, ensuring all would be ready for the event.
On his part, the Chief of Kwasare, Nana Yaw Krah III, expressed deep appreciation for the MP’s generosity and prayed for continued blessings upon him.
In addition to these substantial contributions, Richard Acheampong presented a hair dryer to a newly graduated hair stylist to assist her start her business, further emphasizing his commitment to supporting local entrepreneurship and community development.
