The Sefwi Wiawso NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Festus Bumankama Agyapong, has pledged to provide computers to schools in the area.
This initiative aims to improve the teaching and learning of information and communication technology (ICT) at the grassroots level.
During a recent address, Festus Bumankama Agyapong highlighted the critical issue of inadequate computer facilities in the municipality.
“One of the major problems in this municipality is the unavailability of desktop computers for schools,” he stated.
He expressed concern that many pupils have never had the opportunity to experience using a computer, which hampers their ability to perform in ICT exams.
“It is very pathetic that pupils write ICT exams but do not have access to computers,” Agyapong noted.
To address this, he announced a project to provide at least one desktop computer and its accessories to each school in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality.
“It’s time to move from the theoretical aspect of Information Technology to the practical aspects to equip their knowledge in the subject,” he emphasized.
Agyapong’s vision is for each child to develop a broader understanding of Information Technology, which he believes is crucial for their future success. “I want each kid to have a broader knowledge of Information Technology,” he asserted.
In addition to this promise, Festus Bumankama Agyapong has already taken steps to support the education system.
He has donated a new desktop computer and accessories to the municipal education directorate to enhance administrative efficiency and operations.
