Nana Atto Oware, the Chief of Basengele within the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality, has raised concerns over the detrimental impact of backbiting on the developmental progress of the Sefwi communities.
Highlighting a pervasive “pull him down syndrome” within the region, Nana Atto Oware lamented the lack of unity and mutual support among the people of Sefwi.
Instead of propelling each other forward, he observed a troubling trend of individuals engaging in backbiting and undermining one another.
Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, Nana Atto Oware called upon both traditional authorities and political leaders to prioritize the advancement of the indigenous populace over internal strife.
“As we navigate through the political season, it is imperative for Sefwis to refrain from undermining one another through backbiting. Unity is our strength, and it is through collective effort that we can ascend to greater heights,” Nana Atto Oware told the media in an interview.
He underscored the responsibility of political parties to not underestimate the potential of voters within the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency.
Rather than engaging in divisive tactics, Nana Atto Oware urged political entities to extend support to the youth through avenues such as scholarships and grants, recognizing their pivotal role in fostering societal growth and development.
“In our political landscape, affiliation should not breed enmity. I implore all political leaders within the Constituency to champion peace and cooperation. Let us shun the destructive habits of sabotage and backbiting, which only serve to impede our collective progress,” the Chief asserted.
